How To Have An Emotional Bond With A Man— 3 Surprising Tips

emotional bond

If you want to know how to have an emotional bond with a man and have a real relationship that makes him never want to leave— You can learn to be the woman that “gets” him.

There is something that will keep him connected and invested for long-term, and not just for a fling. With online dating there are so many options for men, it can seem daunting, but with a few of these tips, it will keep a man interested in YOU and help you develop an emotional bond!

There are four ways to connect with a man on a deep emotional level that will make him feel more open to you. Is it a mystery? It isn’t any longer!

Open your calendar

I heard a phrase somewhere that said “Women go from A to Z, and men go from A to B. Masculine men who pump up 20 million plus sperm every time he ejaculates, could potentially populate his own planet.

Why would he want to settle down with you? Because you don’t pressure him to get married and have all of those babies today. And he will want to have an emotional bond with your because you get him.

Men are not biologically wired to make one woman’s babies “just because.” He needs to be inspired and pressure isn’t inspiring for anyone he needs to feel an emotional bond with you.

Things can be serious without pressuring him, and you can let a man know if you do want to get married in the next X amount of time with some man someday. And it would be nice if it was him, but you don’t have to wait around for 6 years hoping he will ask you to be his fiance.

Open up your heart

If you open yourself up to be vulnerable and authentic, it makes it much easier for a man to come home after work and open up to you. If you let him see your emotions, and I don’t mean the kicking and screaming “crazy lady” kind.

I mean the vulnerable kinds of emotions that let him see your wishes, dreams, fears, and deep secrets you only share with your best friends. I’m not saying tell a man of your secrets of now-in-prison ex-boyfriend on the first date. But you can tell him you feel nervous about the presentation you’ve been working on, or the way you feel if your child is sick.

When you share your feelings with him, let him comfort you and support you, let him feel like your hero and it creates an emotional bond between the two of you. It will make him feel good and protective of you, and this is important. You are inviting him into your space.

Let him hug you, stroke your hair and tell you it’s going to be OK. Accepting his comforting and telling him about your feelings might be hard for you especially if you have had a lot of heartbreak and are afraid of getting hurt again.

But for a man to let you inside of his world, you have to let him into your world first. Opening your heart is one way of learning how to make a man open up. And you’ve got to start somewhere, how about online dating?

Open your ears

How many times have you noticed yourself in a conversation and your thoughts and maybe even your eyes drift somewhere besides the conversation?

Active listening is when you give your full attention to the person you are listening. It includes all of your senses. One of the best interpersonal skills you can have to develop good relationships with everyone in your world and a man is to be genuinely interested when someone is speaking.

Listening with pure intent doesn’t naturally happen for a many people because people end up thinking about doing laundry, or your gigantic phone bill that due next week instead of paying attention to what is right in front of them.

Here are a few keys to active listening

Showing verbal cues like “Mmm hmm” or  “Oh” or “I understand” or “That must have been hard for you”will make the speaker feel understood and heard.

You can also use body language and it can become natural after you practice. The right non-verbal communication helps people feel connected. Things like head nodding or smiling, or crinkling your nose.

When you give feedback like this to a man he will know you are paying attention to him and what he is saying.

Remembering key points is another way of how to connect with a man. Take mental notes of when a man speaks. If he tells you his dog’s name is Gunner, it might mean a lot to him if you actually remember it.

You can bring up something he mentioned before in a past conversation. Remembering something shows you care.

Ask questions.

If something is unclear you can ask for clarification. Or another way is to ask more specific questions about the conversation, such as

What did you think about XYZ?

What did you think about lunch at Sammie’s?

Tell me more about the factory, I don’t know anything about it.

These are just a few tips on how to have an emotional bond with a man, and I will dive into more about this in the future! Appreciate where you are right now with a man, wherever that may be.
